I'm starting a parent group at my kid's school and was wondering if Brian or some of you other regular posters have ideas on how to get people involved.

Just get the word out at the school. Put up fliers. Maybe talk to the PTA and see if they can give you access to an email list of parents. If the school needs help and you think you can do something about it, then it should be pretty easy to get other folks involved.

I'm not sure it will be that easy. The school needs major help. I need really committed people. People who put their money where their mouth is.

Not every can be as committed as you'd like them to be. Maybe you need to start small and make it easy for people to help out. Give them options. All or nothing is never a good policy, imho.

That's being wimpy. All or nothing is always the right way to do anything. Going in half cocked never works. It's all about the whole hog.
